2019 Deakin Lecture Series | Design and the Circular Economy

Date:
17 Jun, 2019
Location:
Percy Baxter Lecture Theatre, Deakin University Waterfront Campus

Deakin University and the City of Greater Geelong in conjunction with UNESCO City of Design invite you to the first lecture in the Clever and Creative Lecture Series for 2019: Design and the Circular Economy.

A circular economy delivers products and services that are more profitable, improves access to global markets and provides deep environmental benefits. It is an economy where products no longer have a life cycle with a beginning, middle and end but instead add value to the ecosystem by returning to a useful cycle.

Transitioning the circular economy into the mainstream will be one of the biggest creative challenges of our time.

Alfred Deakin Professor Matthew Barnett, Director, Institute for Frontier Materials and Mr Brett Wickham, Managing Director, ACCIONA Energy Australia will explore the circular economy concept as a key driver of product, service and business innovation, economic growth and sustainable development.
