3D clay printing technology collides with traditional clay making techniques

3D clay printing is ‘doing ceramics differently’.

It’s much more than just pressing a button. It requires a combination of information technology e-design skills, and a deep understanding of the complexities of clay; its unpredictability during construction, glazing and firing.

3D clay printing challenges the traditional methods of making sculptures and functional ware out of clay. Its uses and potential is still being explored.

Come along to a demonstration of all the steps involved in 3D clay printing, from design through to construction. Learn how a shape is analysed for suitability, using an understanding of the unique properties of clay.

Light refreshments will be served
