GBG Stormwater Harvesting Dam – A clever, creative and sustainable solution!

The Stormwater Harvesting Dam uses new technology to reinvent Bunce’s Billabong from the original curator’s era. This new initiative secures the irrigation needs for the GBG and Eastern Park for the foreseeable future with the installation of a state of the art watering system incorporating construction of a stormwater harvesting dam in Eastern Park, located near the site of the old lake (Bunce’s Billabong), which also includes a network of underground pipes. This is controlled by a computerised system that directs water according to individual plant needs.

Guided walking tour.

The meeting point is at the main entrance gates where the steps are, at the corner of Podbury Drive and Eastern Park Circuit.
