Wadawurrung landscapes, living spaces and built environment.

A combination of cultural knowledge and the historical layers of our built environment presents a hidden landscape that is visible and, at times, has been utilised in parallel practices.

Wadawurrung Traditional Owner Melinda Kennedy and anthropologist Heather Threadgold discuss Geelong’s contemporary cityscape through a cultural lens, unravelling Wadawurrung landscapes. Rather than looking to the future, they turn to the past to pursue a yearning for connection to land, water and tangible evidence of Wadawurrung Country – Djillang – the place we call home.
