The City Presents: Wadawurrung landscapes, living spaces and built environment

Thu 19 March, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Presented By:
City of Greater Geelong
Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, 51 Little Malop St, Geelong

Anthropologist Heather Threadgold and Melinda Kennedy, Wadawurrung woman will discuss Wadawurrung landscapes, living spaces and the built environment.

A combination of cultural knowledge and the historical layers of our built environment presents a hidden landscape that is visible and, at times, has been utilised in parallel practices.

Anthropologist Heather Threadgold and Wadawurrung Traditional Owner Melinda Kennedy discuss Geelong’s contemporary cityscape through a cultural lens, unravelling Wadawurrung landscapes. Rather than looking to the future, they turn to the past to pursue a yearning for connection to land, water and tangible evidence of Wadawurrung Country – Djillang – the place we call home.
