Visitor Information

Geelong and the Bellarine is a world class destination in Australia, showcasing all the best elements of our culture within a beautiful location.

With some of the best beaches on our doorstep, the region is home to sport and recreational activities such as football, fishing, golf, sailing, surfing and cycling. We are home to the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Cycle Race, Festival of Sails on the gorgeous Corio Bay and the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach. Geelong is spoilt for choice when it comes to gourmet eateries and wine bars, theatre, movies, galleries, community events and entertainment. The biennial Mountain to Mouth arts and cultural walk leaves the You Yangs and traverses 80km to the mouth of the Barwon River. Some of the most incredible indigenous flora and fauna can be found along the way.

The area has some of the most delicious cold climate wines and range of produce in the nation. From Leura Park and Jack Rabbit on the Bellarine Coast to inland farms and restaurants, the region excels in lamb, beef, wine and berry production, with some tasty beers produced out of the Little Creatures Brewery in the city.

A key asset is accessibility. For a large and vibrant city, movement in and around Geelong and its hinterlands is comfortable. Travel times between central Geelong, the coast, parklands and sporting facilities are all within 20 minutes.
